Lusine was born in Yerevan, Armenia. She graduated from the Yerevan State University (YSU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry (2014-2018) at the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, and defended thesis on the topic, “Influence of millimeter waves on colony forming ability of yeasts Candida guilliermondi NP-4.” Then, she was admitted to YSU Master’s program in General and Medical Biochemistry (2018-2020), at the same department. The topic of her Master thesis was: “The study of binding of ceruloplasmin and photosensitizers (porphyrins) for application in photodynamic therapy of tumors”. Currently, Lusine is a PhD student at the Institute of Biochemistry of the NAS of Armenia (2020-2024). The topic of her PhD is: “Complexes of vitamins and cationic porphyrins for targeted photodynamic therapy of tumors”. The aim of work is obtaining the new vector composites for the photodynamic therapy of tumors. Throughout her study at the university, she was a member of the Yerevan State University Student Scientific Society of Biology (2016-2019). Other professional memberships include: Armenian Association of Biochemists – 2019- Current, ArMicro ASM Student Chapter – 2018-Current, OSA (The Optical Society) – 2020-2021. Since November 2018, she has been working as a junior researcher at the H. Buniatian Institute of Biochemistry of the NAS of Armenia, in the laboratory of “Bioengineering”. She is an editor of Wikipedia. Lusine selected as an Ambassador from Armenia in the 15th Warsaw International Medical Congress 2019. Lusine has mastered a number of scientific methods, e.g. exchange and exclusion chromatography, absorption and fluorescent spectroscopy, DNA and protein extraction methods, PCR, electrophoresis, microbial culture methods, enzymatic activity assays, etc.

Lusine will conduct research in the Gasser group (Paris, France) for two months, for which she received a FEBS Collaborative Developmental Scholarships 2022.

Also, Lusine was a student of the contemporary art program “MediaLab” and participated in art exhibitions. Her hobbies include painting, film photography, reading, writing sci-fi stories, collecting fossils and stones, macrophotography.
