Germain Niogret was born in Paris on August 14, 1996. He completed his university studies at the “Université de Paris”, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in the biomedical field.

He then continued with a first year of the master’s degree called “Frontiers in chemistry” in the same university. He had the opportunity to enrich his experience, both professionally and culturally, during a 6-months internship at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in Yitzhak Tor’s group. He worked on the synthesis, characterization and analysis of fluorescent nucleic acid analogues.

He obtained his master’s degree at the “Université PSL” where he followed the multidisciplinary program: “Chemistry and life sciences”.

In Paris, He joined the Gasser’s group in February 2020 for 6 months. He worked on the preparation and characterization of novel cytotoxic Ru(II) complexes.

In October 2020, Germain began his PhD at the Institut Pasteur in Marcel Hollenstein’s team. In collaboration with the Gasser Group, he works on photodynamic therapy against colon cancer by developing aptamers with photosensitizers based on ruthenium complexes.
