Ziyi received her PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2025, where her research focused on the development of advanced nanomaterials and composite hydrogels for drug delivery and prolonged treatment. Her work involved the design, fabrication, characterization and application of multifunctional materials, aiming to improve delivery efficacy and biocompatibility in biomedical applications.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Chimie ParisTech-PSL, where she specializes in integrating photosensitive materials into hydrogel-based drug delivery systems. Her work focuses on light-activated drug release mechanisms and their potential applications in localized therapy and postoperative treatment.

In her spare time, Ziyi participates in a therapy dog program, which aims to bring joy and calmness to the community. She is also a host employed by the Shenzhen Concert Hall, China. Ziyi is passionate about food, sports and jazz.
