Giulia was born in the province of Bergamo and completed her BSc and MSc in Biotechnology at the University of Milan-Bicocca (Italy). After that, she moved to Finland to expand her laboratory practical experience, and finally ended up in Spain to carry out the doctoral thesis. She obtained the PhD in 2023 from the University of Santiago de Compostela under the supervision of Prof. Javier Montenegro, working on supramolecular systems for the intracellular delivery of hydrophilic cargos. As part of the PhD, she also spent four months in the group of Gonçalo Bernardes at the University of Cambridge working on antibody-drug conjugates. She joined the Gasser Group thanks to a Xunta de Galicia’s post-doctoral fellowship.
Giulia is passionate about cats and everything that concerns music; in her spare time, she likes to go to concerts, discover new music and hang out with friends..
