Giuseppe was born in a small village on the southeast cost of Italy (Melendugno, Italy) in 1980. He move to Modena (Italy) where he performed his undergraduate study in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Modena. He completed his diploma-thesis at the Karl-Franzens University of Graz (Austria) working on “Development of a HPLC method for the determination of α-ketoglutaric acid, 5-hydroxymetilfurfural, N-acetyl-L-methionine, N-acetyl-L-selenomethionine in human plasma”.
In September 2008, he joined the group of Prof. E.H. Stutz in the University of Salzburg as a PhD student. During his PhD, Giuseppe was working on development and validation of analytical methods for fast analysis of carotenoids in culture medium.
In September 2011, Giuseppe moved in Switzerland. He joined the group of Prof. J. Vorholt in ETH as research associate and was involved, as a member of the BattleX project, in the metabolic study of intracellular pathogenic bacteria.
Giuseppe joined the Prof. Gasser’s group for an internship as part of the BNF program, working on synthesis of organometallic compounds.
Giuseppe likes traveling, cooking and playing music, but his favorite mania are table games and “non-conventional” Rubik cubes.
