Congratulations to Cristina, Vanessa and Anna for their new paper, which has just been accepted in Eur. J. Inorg. Chem.! In this paper, we could demonstrate that a series of Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes could be selectively released from different bioconjugates in living cells upon light irradiation. Importantly, we could show that the presence of a cancer-specific peptide in the bioconjugates allowed for an increase of the latter in the cancer cells.
